Selagor, 11 Jun 2025 – In alignment with our commitment to a safety-first culture and responsible corporate governance, Reszon Diagnostics International Sdn Bhd (Reszon) successfully conducted an Essential Occupational First Aid, CPR & AED Training on 11 June 2025 at our USJ Headquarters. This full-day in-house training was attended by 27 employees from various departments, reinforcing our readiness to respond promptly and effectively to workplace emergencies.
Why Emergency Response Training Matters
Workplace safety is a core component of our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework. When accidents or medical emergencies occur, the first few minutes are crucial. This training program aimed to equip our employees with life-saving skills—enabling them to deliver immediate assistance until professional medical help arrives. By enhancing first responder readiness, we are fostering a more resilient and safety-conscious workplace environment.
What the Training Covered
Delivered by certified trainers from ASEC (Academy of Safety & Emergency Care), the program blended theoretical knowledge with practical hands-on sessions, focusing on real-life emergency scenarios. Key modules included:
- Comprehensive patient assessment and understanding the phases of death
- Identifying and responding to medical emergencies such as heart attacks and cardiac arrest
- Performing high-quality Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for adults, children and infants
- Safe and proper use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Techniques for managing airway obstructions due to choking
- Treating bleeding, shock, and soft tissue injuries
- Applying dressings, bandaging techniques and managing thermal, chemical, and electrical burns
The practical sessions allowed participants to perform simulated CPR and AED procedures, choking relief, and injury treatment, with emphasis on technique, teamwork, and composure under pressure.
Key Training Outcomes
By the end of the training, all 27 participants had:
- Gained confidence in responding to health emergencies in the workplace
- Understood the Chain of Survival and its role in increasing survival rates
- Became more competent as designated workplace First Aiders
