What are The Different Types of Typhoid?
April 4, 2023 RESZON

Typhoid fever and paratyphoid fever are both bacterial infections caused by strains of the Salmonella bacteria.

Typhoid fever is caused by the Salmonella typhi bacteria, while paratyphoid fever is caused by the Salmonella paratyphi bacteria. Paratyphoid fever is milder in severity than typhoid fever. Both of these infections are spread through contaminated food or water and are more common in areas with poor sanitation.

Symptoms of typhoid fever and paratyphoid fever include high fever, headache, weakness, generalized discomfort and aches, cough, extreme fatigue, and constipation. In severe cases, these infections can lead to complications such as intestinal bleeding, perforation of the bowel, and meningitis.

It’s important to seek prompt medical attention if you suspect you have either of these infections, as early treatment can help prevent complications.
